1. Application of PU foam
1、The normal operating temperature of the product should be 5℃~35℃, and the optimal temperature is 18℃~25℃.
2、The foam expansion effect is highly related to the ambient humidity. High humidity can promote the expansion and curing speed of the foam. Before construction, an appropriate amount of water mist should be sprayed, but there should be no puddles.
3、The construction surface should be free of oil and dust. This product is not UV-resistant, so it is recommended to coat other materials on the cured foam surface (for example: cement mortar, paint, etc.).
4、The foam can adhere to most substrate surfaces (except PP, PE, and Teflon).
2. Construction procedure of PU foam
1、Take a bottle of PU foam, hold the middle of the can tightly with your hand, and then shake it up and down for 1 minute to ensure that the materials in the can are fully mixed;
2、Connect the foam gun or disposable diversion tube to the valve, be sure to use the material can upside down, and press the trigger until the extruded foam is in a normal shape;
3、When filling vertical gaps, you must start from bottom to top (pay attention to the expansion performance of the foam), gently press the trigger, and you can start construction;
4、The flow rate of the foam can be adjusted by controlling the trigger;
5、After spraying a tube, if it still needs to be filled, you can take out the empty tube and reinstall a tube of PU foam to continue construction;
6、After the construction is completed, the cup should be removed in time, and the foam gun should be cleaned with a special cleaner to prevent residues from clogging the foam gun.
3. Be careful when constructing PU foam
1、If the temperature of the material in the tube is low (below 5℃), it is recommended to move the PU foam to a higher temperature storage environment several hours in advance, and it is recommended to preheat it in 40℃~50℃ hot water for 15 to 30 minutes.
2、Construction workers should wear work clothes and goggles. Smoking is strictly prohibited during construction. The product must not be close to open flames. Empty tubes must not be burned or punctured, and children must not play with them.
3、Filling amount: PU foam has a certain aftereffect, which can ensure that the gap is completely filled. Therefore, it is not necessary to fill the gap completely. The filling amount varies according to the product. The pre-foaming type filling amount is about 90%, and the post-foaming type filling amount is about 50%.
4、Filling method: Vertical gaps should be filled from bottom to top with the gun head horizontally or slightly downward to prevent the foam from sagging. Horizontal gaps should be filled from left to right with the gun head horizontally or slightly downward. Of course, personal operating habits may be different. For larger gaps, they should not be filled at one time, but should be constructed in batches. The second layer should be constructed after the last layer of foam is stable.
5、Construction is not recommended when the wind is strong, otherwise the PU foam may be blown away or deformed by the wind.
6、When filling a confined space, ensure that there is enough moisture in the cavity and apply it in batches. Generally, spray a layer of water mist and then apply a layer of PU foam.
7、If liquid splashes on clothes during construction, most of the foam should be scraped off immediately, cleaned with detergent, or peeled off by hand after the foam solidifies. If liquid splashes on the skin, it should be wiped with a cloth immediately and then cleaned with soap or detergent.
8、It is recommended to use one tube of PU foam at a time. If there is still residue after construction, please leave the foam tube on the tube and close the flow control valve, and place it vertically in a cool place for use the next day. If long-term storage is required, take out the foam tube, turn it upside down, and continuously clean the tube valve with detergent until the melted foam is cleaned. After the detergent evaporates, place the foam tube vertically for storage.
9、The curing speed is slower when the temperature and humidity are low. Before construction, spray a small amount of water on the bonding interface and swing the nozzle to fill it so that the foam is fully exposed to the air to shorten the curing time. If the construction time is short, pre-foamed products can be used. This type of polyurethane foam can shorten the curing time. Generally, surface treatment can be carried out 40 minutes after construction, and the foam can be cured and fixed without expansion or contraction.
10、PU foam special cleaner is only effective before the foam is cured, and it will melt the foam into liquid. Therefore, it should be cleaned in time during construction.
4. Uses of foam glue
